On the day of your procedure you may wish to take paracetamol prior to your appointment. Some men feel this helps with any immediate discomfort post procedure. If you are anxious, see your GP for a mild sedative that can be taken on the day of your procedure (Please contact our team for information if this is required). In addition to this, a local anaesthetic is injected into the skin of the scrotum to numb the area. During the injection you will feel some discomfort, but as soon as the anaesthetic takes effect, you should feel no pain. After the procedure, you may be sore for a few days which can be helped through taking mild painkillers. The No-Scalpel Vasectomy technique causes significantly less discomfort compared to the traditional method.
