A one off appointment to get ear moulds made. I now have them.
Delighted to get an appointment so quickly, everyone was so friendly and knowledgeable and it was a stress free experience. Felt listened to for the whole process and came away very happy. Would highly recommend.
As of February 2023, we are delighted to offer two ear care services, microsuction and custom ear moulds, from the Manor Street Livewell Clinic in Braintree, Essex. Alongside multiple outlets across East Anglia in Chelmsford, Colchester and Halstead, we are pleased to be offering ear care services from our newest Manor Street Braintree location.
Appointments are available to book every Tuesday between15:00pm and 16:30pm. Treatment is swift and uncomplicated, allowing you to plan a visit to the clinic around your day. Paul Cooke, Managing Director at Provide Wellbeing said, ‘We are delighted to be servicing the Braintree community directly from this new location in the centre of the town. It is worrying to realise how many people struggle with their ear care every year, with an estimated 2.3 million people experiencing problems with excessive ear wax, which can unfortunately lead to hearing loss or tinnitus. We have seen a steady increase in the need for this service among our patients, many of whom have been feeling dizzy and unwell or are worrying about related hearing loss, so we are glad to be able to provide them with comfort and specialist support. If you would like to find out more you can either call the phone number detailed below or watch videos on our website where our clinicians explain more about this treatment.’

The clinician will explain the process to you at the start of the ear mould appointment. The soft, clinically safe material will take the shape of your ear and be left for a short while to harden. Once the material has hardened, the mould will be removed from your ear and finalised by your Audiologist during the appointment, so that you can take it home with you straight away.
Custom ear moulds are invaluable to those who want to protect their ears from high volumes of noise or suffer from recurrent ear infections after swimming, as the custom fit keeps out more noise and water than regular ear plugs. Custom ear moulds are quick to make and can be given to you straight after your appointment.

Your custom ear moulds will be ready to take away with you at the end of the 15 minute appointment.
In rare circumstances, the Audiologist may not be able to fit your custom ear moulds if there is a significant buildup of wax. If this is the case you may be required to book a Microsuction appointment. If you feel this may be the case, mention this when you book with us.

A pair of custom ear moulds costs £50. An ear mould cost depends on whether they are made bespoke or are bought pre-made - the £40 fee at Provide Wellbeing covers the cost of creating an impression of your ears, choosing a colour, and then getting your custom ear moulds made while you wait.

The protection of your ears and hearing is very important. At Provide Wellbeing, we want to support you to pursue the activities you enjoy without the discomfort of extreme noise, ear infections, or the worry of causing lasting damage to your hearing. This is where ear moulds can be a useful solution.
Our custom ear moulds are made to fit each of your ears individually, making them more effective at keeping water or noise from damaging the ear compared to standard fitting ear plugs. Our Audiologist can create your tailor-made ear moulds in a single appointment at our clinics in Chelmsford and Braintree, Essex.
How can Custom Ear Moulds help me?
Your ears are sensitive, and can be adversely affected by repeat exposure to loud noises and water. Whether you are a keen swimmer and want to avoid pressure equalisation and ‘swimmer’s ear’, prevent water entering your ears as the result of an ear condition, or you are a musician or a motorcyclist wanting to protect against high volume sound, you can help to protect your hearing from lasting damage with our custom-made ear plugs. Alternatively, you may require ear protection to minimise discomfort from noises such as construction equipment, crowds, and other persistent or potentially damaging sources of sound that may occur in a work environment. Our custom made plugs are designed for maximum comfort and protection, whatever your requirements.
Treatment Information
Your custom moulded ear plugs will be created by your Audiologist at our clinics in Chelmsford and Braintree, Essex. They are hygienic, reliable, and comfortable. You even get a choice of colour!
During the appointment, a mould will be taken of your ears using a soft, clinically safe impression material, which takes the shape of your ear before hardening. Once the material has hardened, the mould will be removed from your ear and finalised by your Audiologist during the appointment, so that you can take it home with you straight away.
