Self-pay Adult Combined ADHD & Autism
assessment

A combined ADHD and Autism assessment allows for a comprehensive, joined-up understanding of how you think, communicate, and experience the world. Many adults find that their traits overlap, and a combined assessment ensures that neither area is looked at in isolation.

At Provide Wellbeing, our combined assessments are delivered by appropriately qualified clinical teams, following NICE guidance and recognised diagnostic standards.

Who this assessment is for

This assessment is designed for adults (18+) who experience a combination of:

  • Attention & Focus: Difficulties with concentration, organization, or restlessness.
  • Social Communication: Differences in how you interact with others or understand social nuances.
  • Sensory Processing: Sensitivities to light, sound, or touch, or a need for specific routines.
  • Daily Functioning: Feeling that lifelong patterns are impacting your work, relationships, or mental health.

How this assessment can be accessed

This combined pathway is currently available as a Self-Pay service only.

  • No GP Referral Required: You can contact us directly to begin.
  • Flexible Delivery Options: We offer a choice of how you receive your assessment.
  • UK-Wide Access: Because this is a private route, it is not restricted by your GP’s location.

Options for a Combined Assessment

Face to Face Assessment:

Our face-to-face model is for those who prefer direct interaction and will be conducted in person at one of our Essex clinics. The consultation will involve an in-depth clinical assessment examining attention, impulsivity, developmental history from childhood to present day, social communication and patterns of behaviour. At the conclusion of the assessment, our clinical team will review the findings together to consider how your ADHD and autistic traits overlap and interact. You will then receive detailed feedback. The outcome may confirm a diagnosis of ADHD, Autism, both (AuDHD), or offer recommendations for alternative support options.

Hybrid Assessment:

The hybrid assessment structure takes place across two appointments – a virtual ADHD appointment and a face-to-face ASD appointment. The ADHD component of the assessment is delivered via our secure video platform. This is ideal for those who prefer the comfort of their own home or have limited travel options. The ASD component of the assessment is delivered in person to allow our clinical team to observe subtle communication styles and sensory responses which are essential for a robust Autism diagnosis. Following both appointments, our clinicians meet to discuss how your ADHD and Autism traits interact, ensuring a balanced and robust conclusion for which you will then receive feedback. This outcome may confirm a diagnosis of ADHD, Autism, both (AuDHD), or provide guidance on other support.

Your Comprehensive Report

You will receive a written report explaining what was assessed, the evidence gathered, and clear recommendations. Our reports are written in clear, accessible language and are suitable for sharing with:

  • Employers: For Access to Work or Reasonable Adjustments.
  • GPs: To update your medical records and discuss ongoing care.

What Happens After a Combined Assessment?

Regardless of the outcome, we provide guidance for your next steps.

  • For ADHD: If a diagnosis is made, you have the option to transition directly into our Private Medication Titration service.
  • For Autism: Support focuses on understanding your identity, sensory needs, and workplace adjustments.
  • Integrated Care: Your post-assessment guidance will address how both conditions work together in your daily life.
