Autism and ADHD assessments and support
Neurodevelopmental conditions can influence learning, communication, behaviour and how people experience the world around them. At Provide Wellbeing, we offer specialist assessments and support for people who may be autistic, have ADHD, or both.
We offer NHS-funded and self-pay autism and ADHD assessments, alongside practical support for children, young people and their families.
Explore the options below to find the service that may be right for you.
NHS Right to Choose assessments
NHS-funded | GP referral required
If you or your child are registered with a GP in England, you may be eligible to choose Provide Wellbeing for an assessment through NHS Right to Choose, where your GP agrees that an assessment is appropriate.
We offer:
- Children and young people aged 6–18: autism, ADHD and combined assessments, with ADHD medication and titration support where clinically appropriate.
- Adults aged 18 and over: autism assessments.
If you want to follow this pathway, please read more on the dedicated pages:

NHS Essex Framework assessments
NHS-funded | GP referral required | Essex residents
A local NHS assessment route for people who live in Essex and are registered with a GP in Essex. Your GP can refer you to Provide Wellbeing through the Essex Integrated Care Board (ICB) Framework.
We offer:
- Children and young people aged 6–18: autism, ADHD and combined assessments, with ADHD medication and titration support where clinically appropriate.
- Adults: autism assessments.

Self-pay assessments
Privately funded | No GP referral required
You can arrange a self-pay assessment directly with our team. We will help you identify the appropriate assessment, explain what it includes and guide you through the booking process.
We offer:
- Autism assessments: children and young people aged 2–18, and adults.
- ADHD assessments: children and young people aged 6–18.
- Combined autism and ADHD assessments: children and young people aged 6–18.
Virtual autism assessments
Self-pay | Ages 8–17 | Online from home
Our virtual autism assessments offer an alternative to attending appointments in person. Assessments take place securely online and include specialist assessment sessions, feedback and a written diagnostic report.
This option may suit children and young people who communicate in full sentences and can take part in appointments on screen. Our team will check whether a virtual assessment is appropriate for your child or young person’s needs.
Autism and ADHD Support and Guidance Sessions
Self-pay | For children, young people, parents and carers | In person or online
Tailored information and practical strategies to help with the everyday challenges that matter most to your family. You do not need a confirmed autism or ADHD diagnosis to access this service.
The package includes three appointments, focusing on your chosen topics, such as communication, sensory needs, emotional regulation, routines or school support. Sessions are available at our Colchester clinic or online.

The practitioners on the day were clearly very experienced and cleverly managed to get my daughter away from me for the assessment, which I’d not expected. Getting the result so quickly on the day was great and the whole experience was nowhere near as stressful as I feared it would be.
