What is the difference between Podiatry and Chiropody?

Chiropody is the original term that was used to define the medical profession of foot care. Podiatry and Chiropody are both are associated with foot care, however Podiatry is now the professional name for a foot care practitioner. The Royal College of Podiatry changed its name from the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists in 2018, and decreasing numbers of practitioners now call themselves Chiropodists.
