Step-by-Step: ADHD Assessment Process

If you’re considering an ADHD assessment, you may be wondering what to expect. At Provide Wellbeing, we make the process clear, supportive, and straightforward.

Step 1: Initial Contact

Enquire online or call our team – no GP referral is needed for self-pay patients. We’ll confirm your details and schedule your first appointment.

Step 2: Assessment Tools

We use standardised questionnaires and rating scales to build a complete picture of your symptoms and how they affect daily life.

Step 3: Clinical Interview

You’ll meet with one of our specialist clinicians, who will take a detailed history of your symptoms, background, and experiences.

Step 4: Diagnostic Report

After your assessment, you’ll receive a comprehensive report. This includes:

  • Your diagnostic outcome
  • Personalised recommendations and signposting to additional support and resources
  • A complete report you can share with your GP, workplace, or university to help arrange any ongoing care or adjustments

Step 5: Post-Diagnostic Support

If medication is recommended, our clinicians can begin treatment promptly and provide the initial prescriptions you need. We’ll share your treatment plan with your GP so they have the information to continue prescribing once your dose is stable. If your GP is unable to take this on, we can continue to provide private prescriptions to ensure your care isn’t interrupted.

Beyond medication, we offer post-diagnostic support with tailored guidance, lifestyle strategies, and signposting to therapy or community resources, ensuring you have ongoing help to manage your diagnosis and thrive.
