Introducing ASD and ADHD
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), as well as other conditions, come under the umbrella term ‘Neurodevelopmental Disorders’.
ASD is referred to as a spectrum due to the vast and dynamic condition it describes. It can affect children and adults in very different ways, and the profile of a person’s strengths and difficulties, often with social interactions and communication, will vary greatly.
ADHD, like ASD, affects people in very different ways and levels of severity. ADHD is a lifelong condition which may present with inattentive and/or hyperactive-impulsive behaviours that impact on a person’s daily life.
