Who we are
Our Story
Provide Wellbeing is an organisation that exists to bridge the gap between private healthcare and the NHS. We help you to access services that improve the way that you feel, or that may not be a medical necessity.
We all want to feel that we are at the peak level of health, both physically and emotionally. That’s why Provide Wellbeing’s services are designed to help you access treatments that promote your wellbeing and give you the option to change things that matter to you. Simply put, we put you back at the centre of your care. We offer all our services to self-paying patients, along with a range of NHS services that are geographically dependent and require a referral from your GP.
Provide Wellbeing was formed in 2017 from an organisation called Provide CIC that provides front-line NHS services, and now serves over four and a half million people. In these times of growing need and shrinking budgets, the NHS can’t do everything – and there are some services that are more to do with personal wellbeing than physical health.
On 7th March 2023, our new Clinic Centre on The Crescent in Colchester was opened to provide even more flexibility when selecting a treatment that best suits you and in an environment that reflects our brand and values. As a company, we were rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in 2019, reflecting our attention to patient care and the quality of our service provision.
Our aim is to provide you with more than just healthcare, whether it’s enabling you to access services you wouldn’t normally be able to, or continuing with healthcare advice beyond that which is readily available.
Complementing the NHS
Provide Wellbeing offers you a range of high quality, self-pay health and wellbeing services that may not be readily available through the NHS. Our aim is to enable you to get the most from life, by improving both your health and your wellbeing. The types of services we offer fall into several categories, including:
- Services the NHS no longer provide, such as Vasectomies.
- Services where there are access restrictions or long waiting lists, such as autism diagnosis, which can have a waiting time of between 18 months to 3 years depending on your area.
- Services where there are limitations on the type or number of treatments provided, such as Physiotherapy.
Part of the Provide Group
Provide Wellbeing’s parent company, Provide, is a staff-owned community interest company that delivers health and social care services across Essex, outer north east London and East Anglia. As part of the ever-changing NHS structure, it was formed as Provide CIC in 2010 after a long history of delivering NHS services. Any surplus Provide makes by working in more innovative and effective ways is reinvested into the services and/or the local communities it serves.
Provide delivers a wide range of health and social care services, and employs around 1,000 people. Its staff deliver care from community hospitals as well as community clinics and in people’s homes. They are committed to delivering safe, effective and compassionate care, and to ensuring that those who use our services have a positive patient experience.
Provide’s services are commissioned by the NHS and local councils, and are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
